At the FERO Foundation, we fund and promote cancer research that has a real impact — the kind that turns laboratory breakthroughs into effective treatments for patients.

Our focus is on translational research — a model that speeds up the process and allows scientific discoveries to reach clinical practice sooner.

The Foundation was established in 2001 by Dr Josep Baselga with a clear mission: to defeat cancer through science.

To achieve this, we provide cross-cutting funding for a range of scientific projects in Spain’s leading research centres, selected for their scientific excellence and commitment to innovation. We also identify young talent and empower them to grow and develop their full potential through the FERO Fellowships.

  • Your contribution also comes with tax benefits: the first €250 you donate is eligible for 80% tax relief on your income tax return. Beyond that amount, the deduction is 40%.

REAL IMPACT OF YOUR SUPPORT

PCR for gene sequencing

€100 per sample

Your contributions make it possible to analyse cancer-related genes. If several people donate the same amount, we can sequence key samples to move research forward.

Micropipettes and pipette tips

€50 per box

They’re essential for handling liquids with precision. A single researcher may need up to 20 boxes a week. With your support, we keep the experiments running.

Basic reagents or dyes

€10 per bottle

Dyes, solutions, culture media… These are the ingredients of every experiment. For example, just in cell culture media, a researcher can spend around €100 a week.
